WHAT ARE SUPERVISED VISITATIONS?

Supervised Visitations are a court-ordered arrangement where a non-custodial parent visits their child(ren) under the observation of a neutral third party to ensure safety.

During the visit, the supervisor will write a report that includes:

 

  • Date, Time, and Duration

  • Location

  • Participants

  • Behavior and Interactions

  • Child’s Response

  • Compliance with Rules

  • Interventions (If Provided)

  • Visitation Summary

  • Recommendations (If Theraputic)

WHEN ARE SUPERVISED VISITATIONS APPROPRIATE 

The court may order supervised visitations when there is allegations of:​
 

  • Domestic Violence

  • Substance Abuse Issues

  • Mental Health Issues

  • A Prolonged Period of Parental Absence

The court may ordered therapeutically supervised when there are allegations of:
 

  • Sexual Abuse

  • Severe Child Abuse

  • Psychological Abuse

  • Parental Alienation

Virtual Visitations may be appropriate when there is a history of:
 

  • Severe Child Abuse

  • The Custodial Parent is Unwilling to Facilitate Communication with the children & the Non-Custodial Parent

  • Distance is a Major Factor

  • Virtual Visitations take place with the children in the privacy of our office.
